BBC Radio 4 is calling on readers of The Grocer to help find Britain’s best ‘big food idea’ of 2012.
The category is part of the BBC Food & Farming awards 2012, now in their 13th year, and aims to reward innovation that improves the way quality food is sourced and sold.
“It could be an initiative by a national supermarket, a wholesaler, a website, or a chain of food shops,” the BBC said. “Any imaginative idea that transforms our access to great food and drink.”
The awards feature nine categories in total, including Best Food Market.
Nominations can be made through the BBC Food & Farming Awards website and the closing date is 12 August.
The judging panel includes chefs Angela Hartnett and Valentine Warner as well as the former MD of The Co-operative Farms, Christine Tacon (pictured).
