The fall in sales of fresh potatoes has slowed, according to the latest Potato Council figures.

Volume sales fell 3.7% year on year in the 12 weeks ending 22 June [Kantar Worldpanel], compared with a 6% decline last quarter. frozen potato products grew 1.3% by volume over the period, driven by a 1.9% rise in frozen chips. Sales of canned potatoes have slowed – up 1.4% in the quarter compared with 10.3% over the full year – as prices increase.
