The Turkey Hotline has been set up for the third year running by the National Farmers’ Union to raise the profile of British turkey producers.

For a fee of £20 producers can promote their Christmas fare directly to consumers through a dedicated number.

Callers are directed to their nearest turkey farmer to pick up their traditional Christmas dinner from the farm.

Last year, the hotline received 1,400 calls, generating an extra income of £50,000 for the 114 farmers taking part.
