A positive and vibrant environment and a relaxed, friendly team help when it comes to stimulating the creative juices of the McCain brand team.
Naomi Tinkler, brands manager for potatoes, says that open plan work space helps the team continue the tradition of producing fun new products -McCain, after all, first brought us the oven chip 26 years ago, microwaveable chips and Home Fries.
Mike Walker joined McCain as a graduate four years ago and is already looking after McCain’s ‘crown jewels’, says Tinkler. He is product manager, Home Fries and oven chips, and enjoys the lion’s share of marketing spend.
Melissa Ferrier, product manager, potatoes, and Lucy Oxley, marketing executive, potatoes, also joined McCain straight from university.
Tinkler says: “We’ve got a really good mix about the team. Mike, Melissa and Lucy are all home grown and between Jon and myself we have lots of brand experience from different companies.”
Jon Burton, senior product manager, light meals, joined from Weetabix and Tinkler spent five years with Bacardi. He has just completed a whole rebrand of light meals to add stronger food values to the range, and new flavours and varieties have been added to McCain’s overall range.
McCain has also just launched a new kids range, Sumthings, which are number shapes cooked in 100% sunflower with no added salt.
