The Co-operative Group has launched an app giving shoppers access to information on its latest deals and promotions.

The app was developed by software company ThoughtWorks using feedback from 2,500 staff and customers who took part in the early user testing and design stage.

“Our customers are increasingly using mobile devices to find the best deals,” said Dane Stanley, head of digital marketing and social media at The Co-op Group. “This app is the first step in making sure the Co-op caters for this need and provides an engaging touchpoint for future developments.”

The Co-op has promoted its weekly deals through paper-based marketing since 1983.
