Microsoft this week revealed its plans for the Xbox in 2012 - including a new hardware bundle and a glimpse at the much-anticipated Halo 4.

In May, the company is releasing a limited-edition white version of the 4GB console that comes bundled with a Kinect sensor, a wireless controller, a three-month Xbox Live Gold subscription and Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures games (rsp: £249.99).

A month earlier, Microsoft will launch one of the most anticipated Kinect titles, Kinect Star Wars, a controller-free game that will give players the chance to wield the power of the Force and even dance with Star Wars characters. Hit RPG Fable is also getting the Kinect treatment in the autumn with the launch of Fable: The Journey.

May will bring fantasy adventure Dragon’s Dogma, while apocalyptic actioner Darkriders 2 is unleashed in June.

Microsoft also released a few details about Halo 4. No launch date has been set - though it will be towards the end of the year - and the game will see Master Chief face an “ancient evil threatening the fate of the universe”.
