Packaging specialist Sirane is launching a new pouch that it claims will “take the flower world by storm” by eliminating water spillage during transport.

The pouch was being trialled by two “big flower retailers” and was likely to hit the market by the end of the month, the company said.

It would eradicate an age-old problem, added a spokesman. “When the industry is transporting flowers, things slip and slide all over the place and delivery drivers end up with sopping wet boxes,” he said.

“But you can tip this pouch any way you like and no water will come out. You could fill it with water, push it tight and throw it at the wall - and it won’t leak a drop.”
