Warburtons has rolled out a GPS-based system to track the progress of its delivery lorries in real time.

Using Navman Wireless GPS vehicle tracking with Paragon’s Fleet Controller software, Warburtons can now monitor deliveries to stores from its bakeries and depots, whereas previously it had to wait 12 hours before receiving feedback from drivers.

“It gives us full visibility of what is actually happening on the road,” said Warburtons distribution planning manager Jim Norton. “We can see when a vehicle arrives at a delivery, how long the call took and when it left.”

The system also provides data to help plan the best delivery routes.
