Schwan’s £4m investment in its manufacturing base has borne its first fruit. The frozen pizza specialist has used part of the multi-million pound spend to come up with Stuffed Pizza Slices under its Chicago Town banner, using “unique, patented technology”.

The slices, each folded over and containing one of four toppings (Triple Cheese, Pepperoni, Hot & Spicy and Supreme), are aimed at hand-held eating on-the-go. Each twin pack carries an rsp of £1.59.

Janet McQuillan, UK brand manager for Chicago Town, said: “We believe this will satisfy the needs of time-poor consumers who actively seek out products which can be eaten on the go.”
