Haribo hopes to persuade kids to part with their pocket money with packaging extensions to its Kiddie’s Super Mix.
The company is introducing 10p and 25p bags of the range to sit alongside its Tangfastics and Starmix varieties, which are already sold in the mini-pack format. It intends for the bags to be impulse purchases as well as for use in party bags and children’s lunchboxes.
Per Henérius, Haribo MD, said: “The success of Tangfastics and Starmix in this format shows there is strong demand for such packs. They are popular because they reflect the pocket-money spending power of children and have strong appeal to them as occasional treats.”
The bags will build on the success of Kiddie’s Super Mix, which generates annual sales of £8.2m and has grown in value by more than 6% over the past 12 months [IRI Infoscan].
