Tesco has followed Asda’s lead in the latest round of the intermittent price war over bananas.

The UK’s largest supermarket has cut the price of 1kg of loose bananas from 68p to 58p.

That matches the price set by its rival last week following a 10p cut. That dropped the price of bananas to its lowest level in almost a year.

As of this morning, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose were still selling 1kg of loose bananas for 68p [BrandView.co.uk].
