Free-range supplier The Happy Egg Co is expanding its product line-up with the launch of single-serve quiches and Scotch eggs.
The mini quiches roll out this month to Tesco Express, where they will replace the larger sharing-sized quiches launched into the stores in June. The sharing quiches will be going into larger Tesco stores and Sainsbury’s during October.
The Scotch eggs will also roll out to Tesco this month (rsp: £1.49 for a two-pack and £1.49 for 12 mini eggs). The company said it would bring a branded option to what has been an own-label driven category.
“We see Scotch eggs as a natural progression from shell eggs and an exciting way to break into a new category,” said The Happy Egg Co head of brands Rob Newell, who added that retailers would be seeing more NPD from the business in the coming months.
