Tesco has launched a virtual changing room on its Facebook page for shoppers to try on clothes.

Customers can create a 3D avatar of themselves by uploading photos and typing in their measurements. The avatar can then ‘try on’ outfits from Tesco’s F&F range before shoppers purchase the clothes on Tesco.com.

“If customers like this we see real business benefits,” said Tesco.

The 3D fitting room technology has been developed and patented by digital agency Metail.
