The Cert Group's efforts to be at the forefront of the wine on the web revolution moved a step closer with a live test of its site. The venture uses Cert's expertise in logistics, has access to 21,000 wines through its Octavian wine business and it has Autonomy software which personalises consumer access to the site. The controlled test is with 2,500 consumers ahead of the full launch in November. MD of Cert E-Commerce David Sones said: "The test is designed to check the full e-commerce environment through to product delivery. "We have more wine than anyone else on the net. We take an order on the web, then place it with the supplier for wines we already have in stock. Other sites do not have immediate access to the wines they offer." He said once the business to consumer operation is up and running, the plan is to get into business to business in the first half of next year. {{DRINKS }}
