Tetley's Bitter is becoming the definitive beer for rugby fans following following its decision to sponsor Rugby League's Super League. This dovetails with its ongoing support for Rugby Union and gives it a year round sporting profile. The Union season takes place in the autumn and winter culminating in a final in the spring, while League is summer based with a climax in October when the grand final takes place. The Super League features 12 teams. Tetley's is the title sponsor and has branding rights on the sleeves of all the players and officials shirts. It also has additional sponsorship deals with seven of the clubs. The sponsorship gets under way this month and will be supported with promotions. This includes tailor-made activities in the multiples to capitalise on the interest in the grand final on October 14. These include free prize draws for shirts and the chance to acquire tickets for the final. At the same time Carlsberg-Tetley has redesigned the packaging of both versions of the beer Original and Smoothflow. This has been done to emphasise the different product offerings. Smoothflow is a widget beer and Original is the fastest growing non widget ale. The new look cans, stubbies and multipacks will be in the trade from the middle of this month. {{DRINKS }}
