November 3, 1900. Bradford butchers, pork butchers, and grocers held a meeting in the Market Tavern, Bradford, and adopted a resolution strongly protesting against the action of the Sanitary Committee of the Bradford City Council in asking for powers to register all places where potted meat and sausages are made, the resolution adding: "We consider this registration uncalled for, a strong attempt to cast a cloud of suspicion upon the trade, and that it would be an unnecessary expense to ratepayers. This meeting is prepared to resist by every legitimate means." {{COUNTERPOINT }}
