September 15, 1900. A map showing the production of "the world's tea" appears in the current issue of "Commercial Intelligence". It is of considerable interest, and as accurate as such graphic modes of displaying statistics commonly are. But as South Africa is so much on the tapis just now, we may point out a slight inaccuracy in that quarter of the map, which is shown as tea consuming, but growing none. The great drink is coffee rather than tea, but there is a growing local market for Natal-grown tea, which tea was also exported from Natal last year to the amount of 9,000lbs. {{COUNTERPOINT }}
