Large consignments of turkeys from Eire arrived in Smithfield market on Monday and the majority of retailers were able to buy all the supplies they wanted for there was no rush of buyers. Best English turkeys made from 6s. 3d. to 6s. 6d. a lb. a little lower than last week. One wholesaler said that he had plenty of English birds to offer from 5s. 10d. to 6s. 3d. lb.
