Bulgarian wines are not new to the event, but this initiative brings them together for the first time. It is the work of the Bulgarian National Vine and Wine Chamber and the Executive Trade Promotion Agency, and nine producers will be presenting their wines from the stand. A spokesman says: "The UK is the best west European market for Bulgarian wines and the LIWSF is considered the right place to showcase top quality new wines from the country. "The event will demonstrate how the producers are focusing all their attention on new quality products, brand development and consistency." Varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay will be shown, as well as indigenous Bulgarian varieties such as Mavrud, Melnik, Gamza and Misket.
