Scotmid Co-operative Society has unveiled a new look - but it’s still not using The Co-operative fascia.
The society, which is the biggest retail co-op not to have adopted The Co-op Group’s green ‘the co-operative’ fascia for its food stores, has launched a black fascia with green lettering at is Warrender Park convenience store in Edinburgh.
A spokesman said the new look would be used in “a small number of stores in selected areas”. The revamp also includes more fresh fruit and vegetables, a bigger chilled section and wider aisles.
“We are proud that we are very much an independent co-operative and that has always been the case,” the spokesman added.
