WLBP praises Asda for continued support Local producers have praised Asda's strong promotion of Welsh meat. Farmer co-operative Welsh Lamb and Beef Promotions has formally recognised the retailer for what it describes as continued support and investment in the livestock industry of Wales. The group highlighted the fact that Asda had sold more than £20 million of Welsh branded lamb in 2001/02 and praised its support of Welsh hill lamb farmers. WLBP managing director Don Thomas said: "Such partnerships are vital to the sustainability of the Welsh lamb brand." Asda has also agreed to support a Welsh lamb consumer activity campaign this season. Organised in conjunction with WLBP, it will highlight the virtues of Welsh Lamb to Asda's customers. {{MEAT }}
