The Famous Grouse is to appear on TV screens again this Christmas in a £1m festive campaign. Three adverts have been created to boost sales of the whisky over the crucial Christmas sales period. One features the brand's Grouse character strutting up a red carpet, one shows the bird posing on the bonnet of a classic car and the third sitting on a rock in the middle of a snowstorm. "Christmas is a pivotal time of year for the brand and we enjoyed an excellent season last year on the back of high-impact advertising," said Emma Heath, marketing manager at distributor Maxxium UK. "The Grouse is a much-loved character that adds plenty of festive cheer. It wouldn't be Christmas without The Famous Grouse on TV." The campaign will launch on 1 December across terrestrial and satellite channels, during drama and sports programmes. There will be additional advertising in Scotland - the brand's heartland.
