Heinz owes its success more to the high number of promotions in store rather than the size of its displays. Multibuy offers dominate its activity and there are offers on beans, pasta, soup and sauce.
Kellogg’s is the only other brand in the chart to move up this week, improving from seventh position last time. Kellogg’s is particularly strong in Asda and makes good use of price promotions. Nestlé remains secure in third spot and shows no sign of diminishing success.
The big story in the chart is of new entries that dominate the bottom of the chart. There are five new entries in total, including KP, Bold, Quaker, Princes and Sharwood’s. KP comes in as the highest new entry at number five, with Hula Hoops and Skips on bogof offers securing its position. Sharwood’s is seldom seen in the charts but sneaks in at number 10 on the back of activity on its Indian and Chinese ranges.
