Derek the Cuckoo has become a bit of a celebrity since appearing on adverts for Irn-Bru 32 earlier this year when he crashed his way through a library shouting "wakey, wakey" at an unsuspecting public. The blue cuckoo was at the centre of a 'Save our Derek' campaign after complaints to the ASA that he encouraged bad behaviour among children. He doesn't, according to both the ASA and the hundreds of consumers who joined the campaign. Derek is now back on TV in a Christmas campaign for the brand, but this time he's creating his trademark havoc in a stylish bar. He is seen encouraging the bar's DJ to play some good music for a change and has a new catchphrase - the Beetles-esque 'Coo Coo Ka Choo'.
