Shepherd Neame's tongue in cheek poster ads for its Spitfire Ale have been given the all-clear three months after they were thrown out by London Underground. Despite receiving no complaints, it removed the series of five ads for fear of offending German tourists. The Advertising Standards Authority did receive some complaints but ruled there was nothing wrong with the ads. These were part of the Kent brewer's usual pre-Christmas campaign and featured straplines such as Votz zo Funny About Zeez Posters and Rear Gunners Drink Lager Shandy'. Shepherd Neame md Jonathan Neame said: "It is sad that on the basis of a handful of objections, political correctness was allowed to prevent London tube travellers enjoying our pre-Christmas campaign. "We intend to continue with our Bottle of Britain theme in future Spitfire campaigns." {{DRINKS }}
