A 10-Year-Old Tawny variety of port is the latest addition to the Cockburn's portfolio, ready for the key Christmas period.

According to the company, the dry and light variant has flavours of raisins, almonds and walnuts, and makes a good start or finish to a meal, particularly as a chilled accompaniment to cheese or chocolates.

The variant, priced at £8.29, is made from grapes grown in the Douro Superior region of Portugal and is blended in small oak barrels using premium wines, all with an average age of ten years.

"The quality of a blender is often defined by their aged tawnies and the 10-Year-Old Tawny is considered the ultimate test of a good blender," said director Miguel Côrte-Real. "We have sought to produce an elegant, drinkable style."
