The British Egg Industry Council has revealed plans to smash its record advertising spend, earmarking £5m for promotional activity next year. The sum is £1m more than its spend this year  a 25% rise which will include a "heavyweight" TV campaign set to hit screens in January. Four 30-second commercials, called Mum', Carlos', Dad Day' and The Girls' will retain the council's successful Fast Food. And Good For You' theme, although the emphasis of the creatives will be on how easy it is to use eggs to create quick and tasty meals. The new adverts are directed by Tom Hooper, the man behind the camera for ITV's successful Cold Feet comedy drama. Andrew Parker, the Council's chairman, said: "We hope the new campaign will take the egg market even further forward." {{P&P }}
