Smethwick-based poultry processor 2 Sisters Food Products this week trebled its size with the acquisition of Hillsdown processors, and became a £300m company. "This is part of a strategy to develop a fully integrated poultry business," said chief executive Ranjit Singh. The group supplies major multiples and food service with a complete range of poultry products, from a guaranteed British supply chain. Asked whether the business was threatened by cheap imported chicken meat, finance director Barry Noble said: "It would be easy to source abroad for short term gain, but we're in this for the long run. Our customers demand British." {{NEWS }}
