Farmers For Action boss David Handley called off a planned second strike over low prices earlier this month because the organisation is in talks to mount a Europe-wide protest instead.
FFA had planned to follow up its three-day action withholding supply last month with a five-day strike. Handley told The Grocer: “We didn’t do it in the end because we’re in talks with dairy farmers on the Continent and in Ireland. We’re looking to do something big, probably in the latter part of January.”
