AF Blakemore deputy md Steve Denny has resigned to "go plural" after five years in the hotseat. He said: "I have been in the trade for a long time, but with a bit of a narrow focus on the cash and carry and wholesale side. I'm a bit of a fan of Allan Leighton and I am following his lead in going plural'." Denny was chief executive of Landmark Cash and Carry before joining Blakemore. He now plans to pursue his interest in new media and internet technology as a freelance. Denny has also taken up consultancies advising manufacturers and advertising agencies about the fmcg field. He will remain a consultant on net based technology at Blakemore for a few months. {{NEWS }}
