Troubled Dutch retailer Ahold have been granted an extra day to present its results for 2002 and restated figures for 2001 and 2000 later today, following months of probes into its financial accounting procedures.

Figures will be released tomorrow, October 2, and are a condition of Ahold’s $2.65m credit facility as agreed with its bankers last March.

Ahold has also confirmed that it has sold two shopping centres in the Czech Republic for 56.5m euros.

Meanwhile, Wal-Mart and Carrefour are said to have put in bids for Ahold’s 100-strong supermarket operation Bompreco in Brazil.
