Ahold supervisory board member Cor Boonstra has resigned after breaching company rules on selling stock. Boonstra admitted he had sold Ahold shares during the 30-day close period before the second quarter results were announced, and "overlooked" legal requirements to report such transactions to the Dutch Bourse authorities. He is also being investigated by courts in Amsterdam after buying shares in Dutch TV company Endemol shortly before it was taken over by Spanish firm Telefonica. An Ahold spokesman said Boonstra was an "excellent international business person". {{NEWS }}
