Ahold has sold its Dutch sweet store chain Jamin Winkelbedrijf - through a management buy-out - for an undisclosed sum.

The deal includes all five Jamin chain stores including inventory, stock and debtors and the 137 franchise stores which will continue to conduct their business with Jamin.

The deal is part of the beleaguered retailer’s strategic plan to restructure its portfolio to focus on core activities and to concentrate on its “mature and most stable markets”.
