Alcoholic drinks and frozen continue to hold the top two places in the category despite no supporting brands appearing in the brand chart. Both categories do, however, feature a number of strong brands which fall just outside the top 10.
Alcoholic drinks is supported by Stella Artois, Budweiser, Carlsberg and Hardys, while frozen features multiple offers from Birds Eye, Youngs and Walls. The frozen category is dominated by the buy-one-get-one-free offer, while alcoholic drinks has a far greater proportion of price promotions than usual, relegating multibuys to a secondary position.
Health and beauty claims the number three spot with a glut of buy-one-get-one-free offers. The success of the category is assured by the number of different brands on promotion, with no particular heavyweights emerging in front.
Household is the only new entry in the chart, supported by Andrex, which sneaks in at the bottom of the brand chart at number 10. Elsewhere, Comfort, Fairy, Persil and Flash all offer support.
