Allied Domecq has developed a new global intranet as part of a transformation programme designed to consolidate scores of disparate IT/supply chain systems into something more manageable. The intranet, developed with partners IBM and Infosys, will become a central repository of data on the business, enabling staff across the globe to access information more quickly and easily, said chief information officer Brian Jones.
Currently the intranet contains sales data, company policies and corporate news, but more information would be added incrementally, said Jones. A new electronic data warehouse would also be plugged in over the next 18 months.
Technology to track trade marketing spend more effectively was also being rolled out.
