Allied Domecq is making a tentative return to TV advertising for its blended whisky Teacher's. A new £500,000 ad campaign for the brand will be shown in the HTV region from now until October. The campaign is called Harry the Pike and features the strapline: The strong taste of Teacher's. For the fire inside you.' Brand director Richard Hayes said: "If this delivers we will consider going national next year." This is part of the first stage of a campaign which started with advertisements in the national newspapers and specialist press which have running since June. "This is a very different style of advertising for blended Scotch and aims to encourage current drinkers to trade up to the brand. "This complements pricing activity we have run.
