Ferrero’s infamous Ambassador advertising icon is returning to screens for the first time in four years - as a she.

The confectioner is giving its classically kitsch ad a revamp with the central character changing from a greying male diplomat to a glamorous woman, played by French model Barbara D’Allessandro.

Hitting screens this week for a three-week airing, the £3.4m campaign aims to illustrate what the company claims are the traditional values of the brand - elegance, luxury, sharing and hospitality.
