Diageo has launched an 18 year-old version of its Talisker malt whisky.
The company said the product would build on the success of the 10-year-old, of which annual sales have grown 16% a year in the last three years. The 18 year-old, distilled on the Isle of Skye, is aimed primarily at specialist off-licences (rsp: £38) but is also available to c-stores and multiple supermarkets.
The company will follow the 18-year-old with a 25-year-old version with limited specialist distribution, rsp: £105.
The Talisker brand has been repackaged to emphasise its heritage. The caps and foil of the bottles are blue for 10, gold for 18 and pewter for the 25-year-old.
