Caribbean rum distiller Angostura is launching a new range following "unprecedented demand" for the spirit, said chairman Lawrence Duprey.
The company has invested £15m in developing a brand with appeal both to new rum drinkers and spirit connoisseurs across Europe.
"Angostura is 'the' rum from Trinidad and Tobago yet it has had limited presence in Europe," Duprey said. "Now with rum, and particularly Caribbean rum, being one of the fastest growing spirit categories we have decided to make it more widely available."
The new range consists of Angostura Reserva, Angostura Five Year Old and Angostura Seven Year Old, which will be distributed in the UK by Paragon Vintners.
The launch will be supported with trade marketing , PR, and an advertising campaign.
"Consumer research shows that consumers are migrating from more traditional spirits like whisky and vodka into rum," said Duprey.
