Rufus Carter, managing director of Patchwork Traditional Food Company, will be taking up a new role in the coming year - as ambassador for the Welsh food and drink industry.
The accolade was the top award at the True Taste Wales Food and Drink Awards. Carter’s family business also took silver for its meat pâtés.
Other highlights included Tethowan’s Dairy of Tregaron, which scooped gold for True Taste Producer with its Gorwydd Caerphilly; Bacheldre Watermill, Churchstoke, Powys, which took gold for the second year running in the organic category; and Thyme Out Delicatessen, named True Taste Retailer of the Year.
Other gold awards went to: Welsh Whisky Company, the Fresh Pasta Company, Radnor Hills, Dairy Farmers of Britain, Rachel’s Organic Dairy and RK Palfrey of Newport. Welsh Development
