Dublin-based chain Superquinn has handed over the running of its SuperClub loyalty scheme to Argos Business Solutions because of the high cost of operating it.

Operational costs for its 800,000 members throughout Ireland were inflated by its use of a catalogue from which loyalty points could be redeemed against an array of products.

An Argos catalogue that contains more than 11,000 products has replaced the Superquinn SuperClub catalogue. Customers can, however, still claim instant discounts on their shopping bill at the till. Under the new scheme the loyalty points are named SuperCent and customers’ existing points have been converted.

Argos Business Solutions managing director John Davis said: “While Superquinn has done a
great job in managing SuperClub within its own resources for the past 10 years, it was felt the time was right to replace the SuperClub reward catalogue. The high costs associated with sourcing, warehousing and distribution of merchandise, not to mention the production of the catalogue itself, meant that Superquinn needed a better solution.”

The solution enables customers to exchange their points for an ‘Argos product voucher’.
