Titan Publishing is planning to help retailers cash in on the forthcoming Star Wars movie, Attack of the Clones, by launching a handful of special titles based around the film. A comic book adaptation of Attack of the Clones launches on May 2 from Titan Publishing, which already publishes Star Wars Magazine. The comic will have a cover price of £1.99 and its frequency is being geared around the screening of the film ­ it will be weekly until the May 23 issue when it will go fortnightly. In October it will revert to a monthly title. Circulation manager WIlliam Pearson said: "We are doing lots of retail activity at multiple and independent level. We are expecting a very good response from consumers ­ indications are that Attack of the Clones will be better than The Phantom Menace and there has already been a lot of publicity surrounding the movie." A week after the launch of Attack of the Clones, Titan also launches Official Collector's Souvenir with a premium cover price of £4.99. The one-shot goes on sale May 9 Star Wars aside, Titan is also launching Memorabilia, a monthly collectors' guide title, priced at £2.35. However, Futurama, a bi-monthly comic based on the animated television series and due to launch on May 23, has now been put on hold until the autumn. Distribution of Titan titles is by Comag. {{CTN }}
