B&M Retail is seeking its first-ever acquisitions manager to drive ambitious expansion plans.

The retailer, which operates B&M Bargains, said last November it would open 40 stores in 2010, creating 1,200 retail jobs. The candidate will be responsible for the acquisition programme of 40 stores a year.

B&M added 60 stores to its portfolio last year, taking its estate to more than 150 stores. On its website, it is calling for landlords to contact the company if they know of suitable stores between 8,000 and 10,000 sq ft, or up to 25,000 sq ft for its out-of-town Homestore format.
