The British Heart Foundation has launched a campaign to educate children about the contents of the food that they eat.

The campaign, which will feature billboard posters to educate children about the common ingredients in cheeseburgers, hot dogs and chicken nuggets, follows a BHF survey which found that 36% of eight to 14 year-olds did not know that chips were made from potatoes.

As well as talking to children, the BHF is also urging the government, food industry, local authorities, schools and parents to take part.

The campaign will also call for companies to stop marketing unhealthy food and drink to children, to ensure that nutritious food is affordable, and to give children the opportunity to learn cooking skills.
