Bic is planning to cut itself a bigger slice of the disposable shavers market with a consumer promotion next month.
Aimed at encouraging trial and driving sales among new users of triple blade Bic Comfort 3, the ‘Try Me for Free’ promotion will offer a free refund to consumers with a proof of purchase.
To qualify, consumers must return the original store receipt to Bic in order to claim back the value of the shaver. Jo Potter, Bic’s category marketing manager, said Comfort 3, which was launched last year with the endorsement of England’s winning rugby world cup captain Martin Johnson, had “already proven itself in the marketplace” but that it wanted to get the product in front of more potential customers.
He added: “We want even more people to see for themselves how good it is and this has driven the development of our instore promotion.”
