Procter & Gamble and Camelot have linked up in a £5m promotion to giveaway Lotto tickets in packs of Bold2in1 washing powder.

Four million National Lottery tickets will be up for grabs from April with an on-pack promotion flagging up the free Lotto voucher inside the detergent and supported by a £1.3m ad campaign.

Consumers redeeem the barcoded voucher at any National Lottery terminal for a £1 Lotto Lucky Dip ticket for either a Wednesday or Saturday night draw.

P&G trade marketing manager, Jolyon Hennings, said: “The two brands have a great fit in terms of audience, and builds on the Bold 2in1 proposition of giving the consumer something extra.”

Camelot’s commercial director Phil Smith noted: “This is a real sales opportunity for our retailers as they will receive their usual commission payment on the promotional Lotto tickets.”
