Scottish Courage Brands has launched a mixed case of its premium bottled ales aimed at independents.

The self-merchandising three-for-£4 ‘Great British Ales’ pack contains a mix of Theakston Old Peculier, Courage Directors and McEwan’s, and is designed so that retailers can offer a handful of beers without having to fork out for entire cases of each brand.

The brewer said the category represented an opportunity to make high profit margins but that it was often untapped because of space and financial restrictions placed on stores.
