Newstrade wholesaler Menzies Distribution has launched a merchandising unit containing impulse lines that will be delivered to retailers along with their newspapers.
Four thousand CTNs in Scotland are being targeted with Money Box, developed by consultancy HH&S.
The idea of the scheme is that retailers do not have to pay for delivery and suppliers escape the usual field marketing costs. Boxes will go back with newspapers in Menzies vans.
Retailers can also visit their regular wholesaler to refill it. The launch begins in July with Ferrero Rocher, following successful trials last year.
