The British Retail Consortium has secured David Taylor as its technical advisor on newspaper and supply chain issues. Taylor heads his own consultancy, Taylor-Made Solutions, and will advise the BRC on the work of the Joint Industry Group. JIG is composed of retailers, publishers and wholesalers and was formed to negotiate a solution to problems in the supply system. Taylor has been acting as consultant to Tesco in the process. Taylor has been a freelance consultant since 1998. He worked as marketing services director at Emap from 1996 and account director for Emap from 1992.
