Simon Emeny is to take on the role of group managing director at brewer Fuller Smith & Turner on 1 November.

Currently the managing director of Fullers Inns, Emeny will assume overall responsibility for both the company’s brewing arm and its network of pubs.

“[Emeny] has a wealth of experience in the beer and pub industry, which will help him drive the business forward while preserving our core values,” said group chairman Michael Turner.

"His new role will enhance Fuller's strong leadership team, ensuring we continue to be the benchmark in both retailing and brewing, while retaining our independence."

In the 16 weeks to 17 July, Fuller's reported a 2% dip in beer volumes, although sales in its managed pubs rose by 4% on a like-for-like basis.
